First Step: Getting a Job!
This step is quite important after all, you need money to care for your dogs! For me I always think this should be the first step in any virtual sim but that's how I like to think. I'm sure many people like to start off different but this is normally how I start off with all my sims.
To find a job, you have to go under the tab called 'Walk'. In this tab will contain basically an image of the whole town of Dog Dayzz. Now search for the Dog Dayzz Shop, Bank, and permit office. In this section the Employment office should be in between the Dog Dayzz Shop and Permit office.
Once in the employment office you are given the choice of six jobs, and the question mark at the end of each once tells you how much money you can get if your promoted. [Which basically means in a limited amount of time you can ask for a promotion yourself by clicking promotion under 'Your Job' section at top. You can only get so far in each job and only earn so much.] Once finding which job you want, go ahead and click on Apply.
Now you only get paid money from your job when you take care of your dogs. If you dogs go a week without care then you go a week without pay. This simulator requires that you get on at least everyday to take care of your dog much like a real dog.
Second Step: Getting a Dog
Now I bet your pumped up about getting a dog! I know I was but there seems to be about a million breeds on dog dayzz which can be quite hard choosing what breed you want to do! If you already know what breed you want to start breeding then you may skip this section if needed but if you need help on choosing then don't worry! [Links will be given at the end of explanations! ;) ]
DD offers a complete list of Purebred dogs along with designer dogs too! Now sadly for designers they don't have their own page so you'll have to do the research yourself but the purebreds do have their own page with helpful information.
DD also offers a complete lists of their standards such as group like Herding, Sporting and Toy. These groups will help you out if you know you want to do a small dog like a Pug to a herding dog like the Border Collie.

Adopting
Adopting is actually the most simple way to get a dog and you'll actually start off with a puppy instead of a full grown dog. The Adoption center only offers purebred dogs and you only have five slots meaning you can get five dogs. Now along with this most dogs that come from the Adoption center are pretty average with stats and can either be show or pet quality. These terms mean that if you dog is show quality you may enter it in conformation but if its pet quality then it cannot be entered within conformation but may do other sports!
To start off with many DD players say you should start off with one dog and work your way up with money before becoming a full time breeder. Get the feel of the game first and once done start breeding but this is only a recommendation. You may choose to start with more then one dog and learn as you go. I actually started off this way because I feel like its a way I learn Dog Dayzz better but everyone is different.
To adopt from the adoption center, the building is actually located on 'Walk' and should be the first building on the very right. The building also says 'Adopt' on top too if that should help any! In short enter the information that's needed and click on 'Adopt Puppy'
Rescue Center
Don't want to adopt a dog from the adoption center? The Rescue Center may be an option just for you if your looking for a mix breed, or purebred! Even so be careful with choosing a dog from the rescue center it could always have bad stats and or health, old age and even spayed. Remember before submit an application for said Dog that you check out the age, stats, and everything else to make sure the dog is what you want.
The fee for adopting one from the center is only a 150 DD money and is pretty cheap that's if you can find the dog you want. the Rescue center is located next to the Adoption center or at the very bottom towards right hand corner of the map.
Some tips are that you may end up waiting a long time for the dog since player typically own the dogs before hand through fostering them and you may be rejected too. Submit a couple applications for dogs just in case you don't get the dogs of your dreams.
Importing *Not recommended*
Dog Dayzz offers this, and is basically like adopting only there are two major difference. The first one is the dog you get from importing will always be show quality with good stats, and the second is that the dog will cost actual money. Paw prints are the sites online exchange for cash and can be used in many ways such as importing and upgrading accounts. You need about nine paw prints which is about five dollars in American money.
To get PP as they are called you have to go back to 'Walk' and look at the very bottom of the map. Click the 'Donate' jar and it will take you to Purchase. Please make sure to read all the information before clicking on the link given to go and buy paw prints.
[Suggestion is if you plan on spending five dollars, you should get the three month silver bone account. Not only will you get import access but many other features as well! To learn more about this please go to: -----]
Once you have bought your PP, there is a tab within the same area of Purchase called 'Pawprint Exchange' and click on that. Now look for import for one year and enter the information needed before hitting exchange. Once done, go to the import area which is in 'Walk' and it should be all the way in the back of the map. The import is actually the little area that looks like an airport!
Some tips for this choice would be to make sure all the information you have entered is correct! After all your spending real money on this game now and make sure you plan on staying in the game for awhile so you may use the dog to its full potential! :)
Buying from a Player
Buying from another player is a bit cheaper and can actually get you the dream dog but sadly some players do not sell to new members or even rules. These tend to be found on the kennel page and you often have to read them before buying them. [Tip: Click on the current owner of dog then click their kennel name. It will take you to their page and you can see the rules their but not everyone has these!]
To buy a player dog you have to go to 'Fetch' and enter in the information down below. [Hint: Its the Find Dog Section] Once giving all the information needed plus having it on for Sale as yes will help out a lot! Now when looking for dogs there may be two different colored dollar signs. The green one means it public and once you click to buy the dog that means it your for said price. When it has the silver it means that you may have to bid against other DD player and may not get the dog. It's all up to the owner on this one.
Caring for the Dog
Now that you have little Fido or Fidos it's time to start taking care of them and your kennel! First off we'll just name a list of things you need such as Food, Two Bowls, Slip Leash, and a toy! Now for food its basically a guessing game on what you needed to get but there are also several different kinds of food such as Canned, Normal, and Premium. [Tip: Premium is often recommended by many players on DD and I even use it myself!] Bowl colors, toy color, and slip leash color are your choice. [I stated color not what kind of toy! Keep this in mind.] As for toys its in short the same way unless you have this handy little guide!
Chicken -Ball
Duck- Holey Ball
Salmon - Tug Rope
Rice - Frizbee
Now I go to Player own shops, grooming and vet because they tend to be a lot cheaper then the ones owned by DD. To get to the players owner stores, grooming, training, boarding, and vet you go to 'Walk'. On the top left hand conger there should be a small town in the background so click it! This will take you to the player owned area and there will be a big sign saying Shop so click it! Now start looking for food, bowls, and slip leashes through search because it will show who has the lowest price on each item so you can get the very best price! As buying for food I would get all four flavors for now just in case after all, it will be used up in the future.
To equip the dog with all it's new gear you have to go to inventory which should be located right under where it says Player, Money, and Pawprints. Its actually the very first little icon to your left! Click it and then start equipping items to your dog/s. Once done, go to your Kennel page and click on your dog.
To equip food DD has set it up where you have to go to the General tab and scroll down till you see Diet and change to whatever food you had gotten. Then go to Care and click feed then two things will either happen: Your dog will accept it and you have to refill the bowl again or you have to go back to General to try a different food out. Keep doing this process until you find the right food and fill up all the stars on Hunger!
Now click on water, and go for a walk until those stars are filled up also or until you have them almost filled up. Don't worry if they don't fill up completely as this is normal for new dogs. Once down and figured out with what toy you need we are going to take an easy way to care for your dog before diving into getting a toy.
On edit dog information you are able to see a tab call Daily care, and this helps out DD player as you can set information to where you only have to click the button once! Go ahead and change the settings to two feedings, and three walks. You'll also come back to file on grooming and training later on!
Now as you did with finding food, bowls, and slip leash you now have to go find a toy, equip it like your bowls and leash then play with your dog!
Once done with this we can now go groom your dogs and get them to the vet! Go back to player owned buildings and go to the grooming salon. Choose a cheap service as you don't have all the money in the world! Once your dogs are groomed, then go back to the vet clinics within player owned area. Get your dogs vaccinated!
Now we need to make sure your dogs stay in good health. Go back to play owned shops and start to buy kennel supplies but not the ones for boarding! Get the mop and bucket, disinfection spray, and tool box. Equip these items like you did with your dog only they go towards your kennel. Once done go to Manage then your Kennel and scroll down to the bottom where it shows these items. Click clean until all the stars are filled up!
Training and Competing!
There are many sports you can enter dogs within DD but not all dogs can enter in Conformation which is limited to purebreds. A quick Google search will tell you what conformation is! Now to find out if you dog is open for Conformation if you choose to do it is to click on the dog and under the name and or picture of dog will show Show or Pet in Quality. If your dog says Show then you may enter in this but if not you may enter it in other sports!
Now you want to enter your dog in Classes but don't know what kind of classes? Well each dog has different stats and so you need to figure out what sport is best for your dog. Go back to your dog page and look at stats to figure out which one has the highest number. Once done, here's a little guide which tells what stats are needed, eligibility, training, classes, titles, and judgement. This will give you a full understanding on the competition and how to basically 'win'.

This will give you a full understanding on the competition and how to basically 'win'.
Once done choosing a sport or sports you now have to train your dog! Go to 'Walk' and above the Rescue/Adopt Center will be Training then above that will be k-9-5 where classes will be taken. [Hint" There is no player owned class center. Sorry.] Click the building and train you dog within the sport wanted! It takes time to train the dog and until you complete the novice class you cannot compete.
Now while we are waiting for you dog to finish class which can take four to eight days depending on the sport lets start raising his stats! Go to player owned shops and at the top where it says training click on that. Pick any player ran shop and the sport your dog is currently in class for then hit train! [Hint: As stated above in Caring for your dog, you can change the files of Training and Grooming now if you want too.]
Now lets say your dog is done with the novice classes and you want to enter him in a competition! On 'Walk' there should be an area above the K-9-5 building saying Competitions or Show. Each area is different as the building is for Conformation and Obedience only while all the other sports are in the fenced in area. [Hint: If you plan on getting a Certificate then you will need to go to the building next to k-9-5] Once clicking on either one enter what competition you want your dog to be enter in and click search! A list may show up with several ones to enter or just one, but aim for the cheapest one which is normally at the very top page. Pick which dog you want to enter and then hit enter. Depending on if you change the day, results will be posted up tomorrow . To see the results go to Kennel then the Kennel tab and at the bottom will be a link called Show results/Titles. Click it! This will show how well your dog did and if it won title. Also refer back to the purple button called Show Information to see how to win titles if you have not done so.
Breeding
Now I bet your dogs have some titles, and you want to breed them correct? Well we need to figure out if the dogs are ready to be bred together! First off have you taken care of them? If not you better do it before breeding them as they can affect the puppies stats! Now I bet your saying your ready as your dogs and kennel have been cleaned!
Well here are a list of requirements needed to breed two dogs
-At least two years of age and older but cannot be beyond seven years of age meaning they should be either above two but below seven.
-Intact meaning you cared for them properly and aren't sick!
-Not expecting or raising a litter!
-Not for sale
-Cannot be in Boarding either!
If you dog fits all the requirements above then it's time to breed! On the map within "Walk" there should be a heart symbol at the very bottom with Breed it in. Click that and breed the two dogs you want but note that this will not always happen. Sometimes your dogs wont breed and you have to try the next day.
Some quick tips to breeding are:
-Make sure the dogs are as healthy as possible as they will often produce better litters then dogs who are not on the healthy side.
-Don't breed if you plan on getting rid of the dogs later on or just breeding to breed. Breed for a purpose after all, this game is a simulator!
-When selling pups its better to sell them out to players a few days before the breeding pair are bred as it gives more time to sell pups. You can only sell pups when they leave the litter! Here's a little guide on how to which is made by another DD player. [Hint: If selling to another player, place it under private sale so you can accept the player who has offered to buy said pup!]
Now while we are waiting for you dog to finish class which can take four to eight days depending on the sport lets start raising his stats! Go to player owned shops and at the top where it says training click on that. Pick any player ran shop and the sport your dog is currently in class for then hit train! -Also if your not an upgraded account you may only keep one pup and the rest will go to 'pet homes' basically and aren't on the game anymore in short.
